Sally Percival

Sally Percival

Sally is the mother of two children, Victoria aged 25 and Alexander, aged 23.

At the age of three, Alexander was diagnosed with autism and a learning disability. He has an individual budget, which has made an enormous difference to their family life.

Sally organises Alexander’s support and employs staff to help.

Sally’s mother also has an individual budget for support with dementia and her complex health needs, with Sally managing her budget and staff.

After Alex was given his diagnosis, Sally started the Sound Lakeland Autism and Aspergers Group, and also helped to form Our Lives Cumbria, a family leadership organisation brought together through being part of the North West Citizen leaders and National Partners in Policymaking programmes. Sally also co-chairs the National Co Production Advisory Group and is part of the new Think Local, Act Personal partnership.

Sally’s experiences have allowed her to learn about person-centred planning, support planning and person-centred reviews. She truly believes in personalisation and the positive impact it has on people’s lives.
