Christine’s professional background includes a full time career in Education, with Leadership roles in schools and a Local Authority in Greater Manchester and Voluntary work with two national charities, Marie Curie Cancer Care and Mind.
Her full time career was cut short by illness and disability, due to arthritis and spinal problems, and since then Christine has developed a part-time working portfolio of non-executive / lay member / patient expert / adviser roles.
Christine is currently an Associate with the NHS North West Leadership Academy and leads the development and running of the North West Non-Executive Director / Lay Member network.
Nationally Christine is a patient expert/advisor member of the co-production group of the Coalition for Collaborative Care and is a Board member of the People and Communities Board which is one of the delivery programme boards for the Five Year Forward View.
Christine is a core member of the Research User Group of Greater Manchester Primary Care Patient Safety Translational Research Centre at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust and The University of Manchester.
Christine is Chair of her Health Centre’s Patient Participation Group and a member of Stockport CCG’s Patient Panel and the Citizen Panel for the Stockport Together Vanguard
Other interests include Coaching, all things literary, Mindfulness meditation and using Twitter for networking opportunities.
