People with lived experience of peronalised care invited to join Peer Leadership Academy

People with lived experience of personalised approaches to health and social care are being offered the opportunity of participating in a highly regarded personal development programme that focuses on co-production.

The Autumn Peer Leadership Academy 2018 is being run by the NHS England Personalised Care Group in collaboration with Peoplehub CIC.

It aims to give participants the skills, knowledge and confidence to play an active role in personalised care programmes at national and regional level, and to help drive demand and take up of personalised care, especially personal health budgets.

“The Peer Leadership Academy has given me the confidence to believe my small voice can help make a difference to effect the changes,” said one previous attendee.

“Meeting the NHS representatives has also made me more aware that the policy makers are listening and using our input to develop the legislation needed,” said another.

The programme is in its fourth year and will take place over three, two-day residential sessions at Burleigh Court Loughborough in September, October and November 2018.

Successful applicants will have travel and accommodation costs covered and a small participation fee is also available for the six days.

C4CC asks its national partners to share this information to their networks to ensure that a broad and diverse pool of applicants can apply for this unique opportunity.

Applications close on 28 August at 5pm; for more details and a leaflet, please see http://www.peoplehub.org.uk/peer-leadership-academy-2018/
